The only thing not "romantically conducive" is the resort's large dining room, where guests must share tables with strangers. The heart-shaped pool is about three feet deep and too small for swimming. Only the tiny room containing the toilet offers privacy, with a door and no mirrors. Mirrors are everywhere, making the place seem like a fun house - which of course it is. The living room has the only window, but the four-level suite is so large that it's not claustrophobic. The living room, over which the champagne glass towers, has a fireplace that burns logs purchased in the gift shop. You can add bubble bath or turn on the whirlpool jets. The tub is less than two feet deep, but large enough for couples to comfortably soak. It is entered from the second-floor bathroom. The "glass" in a Champagne Towers Suite is more novel to look at than to bathe in. Actually, half its stem and base are just reflections in the mirrored wall. Mirrors create the illusion that it is free-standing. Step inside one of the most expensive units and you will stand before a seven-foot-tall champagne glass. "Usually couples go for the more extravagant rooms," said DuBorgel. Anyone paying for an expensive room may feel guilty spending too much time out of it. Cove Haven has eight different types, in five price categories. How much you enjoy your stay may be determined by your room. Round buildings, housing units called Garden of Eden Apples, don't even have windows. But others, farther up the hill, resemble scientific installations or military bunkers. From outside, many look like standard rows of one-story motel units. "But the uniqueness of the rooms is the hook."Īt first glance, nothing seems extraordinary about those rooms. "I'm not saying people stay in their rooms for three days straight," said Wilkens. One married guest told her husband: "Wish we had known about this place before we went on our honeymoon." No matter how long you've been married, it can't hurt to rekindle the romance in a relationship. "It may be a little decadent, but it's something you don't experience every day," said Cove Haven spokeswoman Linda DuBorgel. Time to get re-acquainted time to enjoy each other time that passes too quickly. Is it worth it?
